Ive quit my nvq what now?

Hi I have been working as a homecarer for nearly 2 years and really enjoyed it.I have a family, and would like to focus on them and so have quit my job. This is now a career choice i would like to follow in the future. My nvq in social care was completed (as far as i am aware) with all work i was given, although my assessor has the folder. I wanted to ask what happens to my folder now? Does it belong to me and can i ask for it back when i have left? Thanks

You need to keep in close

You need to keep in close contact with your assessor. They or the training provider should tell you when your work has been assessed and what stage you are at. Check that they know your current situation.

Thanks

I am still in contact with my assessor, and we have an in-house training department doing the nvq who are also aware i have left.
My problem is that i have now left the company. I believed that as it is my work in the portfollio and do belonged to me. Work are giving me the runaround saying i didnt pay for it so im not entitled to it.I thought the company had funding to train carers for nvq. Not helping is the fact it has been a bad experience and i have had no help or feedback from my assessor who is a full time carer herself and still being assessed.work has been completed that im given but heard nothing back in 6 months.Just wondered what i can do as in the future i would like to carry on with this career. Thanks

Hi Sorry to hear about these

Hi

Sorry to hear about these problems. I am not sure of the legalities here so you might want to access advice from Citizen's Advice Bureaux.

Perhaps first step is to use your assessment centre's complaints procedure. Follow this first, if this does not provide a satisfactory resolution then contact the awarding body that you should be registered with. For this reason make sure you know which awarding body you are registered with and if possible your registration number.

With regard to the portfolio. Rule of thumb is that normally your own work is considered your property. Assessment records are the property of the assessment centre.

Sorry I cannot be more exact.
