Difference between Health and Social Care?Following an extremely difficult EV visit, can you please explain the difference between and health care and social care, all our candidates work in care homes for the elderly. The EV stated that all candidates must do the 4 core units (at Level 2)irrespective of where they work, this is not reflected in the C&G standards which state they may do 4 or a mixture of core and optional. Can someone please confirm if all H&S candidates at L2 have to do the 4 core units, all advice greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Sorry to hear about the EV
Sorry to hear about the EV visit. In care homes and other 'social care' settings it is a requirement that all 4 core units plus at least 2 optional are completed. This is set by 'Skills for Care'. However, in health settings such as hospitals a more flexible approach means that you can do 2 core + 2 optional + 2 core or optional, this is set by 'Skills for Health' (refers to England).
This kind of information should be written in the qualification support material from the awarding body.
