Just like to say hi.
I'm new to this site.
I'm a qualified health and social care assessor and IV for childrens and young peoples award. Also a registered centre with City and Guilds. We deliver levels 3 and 4 A1 and PTLLS.
I'm looking to network and share positive practice with other like minded assessors.
Thank you for your time
Dawn
Hi Dawn Good to hear from
Hi Dawn
Good to hear from you and welcome to the site. What do you think of the upcoming changes with the introduction of the QUalification and Credit Framework, how is this affecting children and young people NVQ?

Up In the air
I think the changes are going to be for the better. . .it will save a lot of the repeatition of the previous award structures. Not too sure how funding will be affected . . .but personally feel this is a change needed that is overdue and hopefully will empower workers and produce a more effective childrens workforce. The units are good - what draft ones I have seen
Onwards and upwards I say

I completed my D32/33 in 1999 (NVQ Assessor in Care) I am a qualified nurse and nearing the age of retirement. I no longer wish to be "hands on" at work, and would like to steer my career in the direction of becoming an Assessor in the workplace. How can I update myself as I feel there may have been changes made since I last did an assessment.
Hi Pauline Perhaps your best
Hi Pauline
Perhaps your best bet is to pick up some assessing. Your assessment centre should provide you will support as you get used to anything new. Some might suggest that you work towards gaining the new A1 NVQ assessor qualification but this is not a requirement.
Note that this year will see several significant changes in health and social care qualifications so don't expect things to stay unchanged for long.
