Im in dire need of some help and advice. I am trying to find out how to beome and NVQ assessor. I am willing to self fund but the deputy manager in my workplace is less than helpful. I understand I need two candidates, do these need to be within my own workplace. If they dont do I have to find my own candidates independently or will the company I do my A1 course through help me find candidates. I really hope someone is able to help me as I really am at a loss. Many thanks.

Q1 - Funding would be provided by your employer or yourself
Q2 - Min 2 candidates, not nec your workplace but they do need to fit criteria to be eligible for the NVQ by the source funding their NVQ, check their APL (Approved Prior Learning) does not get in way.
Q3 - The Company who take you through your A1 are training and assessing you as an assessor not finding you the candidates. A1 trainers can be found on the web in your area.
Looking at the web - some people have gained candidates themselves, through a college or through an employer.

I'm afraid finding candidates can be very difficult as they have to be registered through a training provider so they can complete the NVQ.
You need to sweet talk local training providers into letting you loose on two of their candidates.

I am going through the same thing right now. All very frustrating. I have access to candidates within my work place but the problem is, the training provider we use to process our NVQ training are not keen on allowing me to attend their standardisation meetings. This is a vital part of my training and so without their support i am unable to use these candidates and not be able to complete my A1.
