Personalisation e-learning

These e-Learning resources are freely available to all. They provide audio, video and interactive technology to assist in exploring the nature of Personalisation.

This publication aims to tell the story so far about the personalisation of adult social care services.

It is intended to set out our current understanding of personalisation and its implementation, exploring what personalisation is, where the idea came from and placing the transformation of adult social care in the wider public service reform agenda.

DH Care Networks

DH Care Networks take the lead for the Putting People First team in the Department of Health around integration and whole system reform, housing with care, assistive technology and partnership working.

Housing Rights Resource Packs

This suite of resources was launched on 31 March 2010; it covers many subjects around different housing options available for people with learning disabilities.

Learning materials for restraint

The use of restraint is a challenging and at times controversial issue for the many workers who provide care and support in domestic and residential settings. Today sees a new set of resources available to the workforce, to support them to understand when restraint is appropriate, how to make informed decisions, and to introduce approaches to help avoid its use.

Managing risk, minimising restraint: This new suite of SCIE resources examines what restraint is and how to make informed decisions regarding its use in residential services for older people.

Dementia Gateway: A website hosting a range of dementia resources to support those with dementia, their carers and those working in dementia services. It features practical tips and tools, including two free e-learning resources and includes coverage of key topics such as symptoms, types of dementia, myths about dementia, activity and nutrition.

Drug misuse
The Department of Health is the lead Government department for drug treatment policy, guidance and funding. The Department also helps deliver Government campaigns on drugs, such as FRANK and sponsors the National Treatment Agency, a special health authority (created by the Government in 2001) with responsibility for the effective delivery of drug treatment services.

The Home Office leads on tackling drug crime and has overall responsibility for delivering the Government’s Drug Strategy in partnership with other Government Departments, including the Department of Health.
