Roll-out of new rules for foreign students

A delivery plan for the student tier of the Australian-style points system was announced by the Home Office. This also includes tighter protection for overseas student.

Under the new system, which will be rolled out from March next year, colleges and universities who want to teach non European Economic Area (EEA) nationals must have a licence issued by the UK Border Agency.

New Sector Skills Council for 'Third Sector'

The Government has announced plans to create a new Third Sector skills body which will identify and address skills gaps and shortages for charities, voluntary groups, social enterprises and other third sector organisations.

What is VQ Reform?

The Vocational Qualifications Reform Programme is a UK-wide programme introducing significant changes to the vocational qualifications system, particularly in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, with the aim of creating a system:
