i want to study to become a assessor .. got in touch with a company called *** [edit] .. they charging £795 to complete this .. is this too much and also any idea of how to become a asessor in the birmingham area
A more cost effective route
A more cost effective route can be to contact your local training providers and see if any are looking for trainee assessors. That way you may get the qualification for free and get paid for your work. Also, you will have candidates to work with. One problem with taking an assessor qualification as an external student is that you need candidates who are taking their own occupational qualfication to assess.
You also need to take care to check what is being offered. The new qualifications come in different units. Taking the wrong unit would not allow you to assess. You can find out more about what you need here...

One last point is that there are several factors to consider when becoming an assessor. Make sure you talk to different people to make sure that this will work for your situation.
